Hi! I'm Abby.

I am a 15 year old blonde American Cocker Spanial. I love having my tummie rubbed!
I SAID,"I love having my tummie rubbed!"

Go ahead. Move the mouse over the picture on the right and then rub my tummy!

I love attention. I like playing in the water. I was once an avid swimmer. I used to like to go on the ski boat with Frank, but he promised me one time there would be ducks and there were no ducks. He said there would be ducks, but there were no ducks. When someone promises ducks there should be ducks. Don't you agree?

So I don't go anymore. Besides, Frank always ends up being dragged mercilusly behind the boat and nobody tries to save him. I bite into the rope to save him. He just thinks it is funny.

I enjoy playing with old socks and chewing up things I find in the waste basket. I shed hair like a dog twice my size and I still have my adorable puppy dog eyes. I am just too cute. Everybody says so.

I hurt my back a couple years ago, so I can't climb stairs too often and I don't jump up on the bed anymore. That's really too bad because I really liked jumping up onto the bed when Frank had one of his girlfriends over.(Te he he he) I stayed out at the ranch in New Braunfels for a couple years so I wouldn't have to go up any stairs. When I was there I just sat in the kitchen and ate tortillas all day long. What a life.

Did I mention I can sniff like nobodies business. I'm a sniffin' dog. I can tell the difference between thousands of scents. This nose was made for sniffin'. And people seem to notice too. In fact Frank's mother is always saying that I smell like a dog. Impressive, isn't it?

Abby the Wonder Dog has died at the age of 17
date: September 25th, 2005

Abby The Wonder Dog passed away early this morning at her home in Bastrop, Texas.

Abby was born seventeen years ago near Hillsboro, Texas. She was a rambunctious puppy and loved to chew on things. Even things that didn't need chewing. On a couple of occasions cassette tapes were found broken apart and the tape strung across the living room. New stereo systems had to be set high off the floor in fear that Abby would want to chew on the new wires. Later in life she learned the joys of a good rawhide bone. She could plow though a new bone within a couple hours of continuous, joyful chewing.

Abby also loved to swim. At her first home in New Braunfels, Texas when she would be let outside do take care of her business, she would soon be found swimming in the middle of a pond that was behind the home. Later in life she would enjoy tubing on the Frio River, boat rides on Lake Austin (were she also attempted to rescue a skier from being dragged behind the boat) and general Duck swimming after in Bull Creek in Austin, Texas. During retirement in Austin she would spend time at Walnut Creek Park and wade along the creek, making friends of young children along the way.

Abby never turned down a good petting. She loved attention when she was in her younger years. A good tummy rub was the best. She became the master of the double leg shake, but the tummy rubbing had to be just right. In return for even the smallest of petting, Abby would always get her natural smile to the petter.

Through all the ups and downs, Abby was the best dog a boy could have. Fiercely loyal and always protective, she would always place herself in a position where she could monitor her entire family and be able to come to anyone's aide in an instant. And she always had the protection of her family at the top of her list of things to do. While living with Frank, he would semi-regularly bring home young women who would soon commence to trying to swallow his face. Abby would always jump to the rescue to pull her away from Frank. And on the few occasions when the woman actually managed to chase Frank onto the bed, even though he had thrown off all his clothes so she might loose the scent, Abby would again come to the rescue and jump onto the bed and be so adorable that the woman had to stop her attack and pet Abby and tell her how cute she was.

Abby will be, and is already, sorely missed.
